Soccer Skills Competitions


The Soccer Skills Competitions are offered in all three counties to provide athletes the opportunity to compete in the three basic soccer skills: dribbling, passing and shooting.

The Knights of Columbus sponsor all socccer skills events.

All events begin at 10:15 a.m.

Sussex County School Districts (including Milford): Tuesday, May 13 at Sussex Tech High School (Georgetown)

Results - Sussex Tech event

Capitol and Caesar Rodney School Districts: Thursday, May 15 at Polytech High School (Woodside)

Results - Polytech event

Christina and Red Clay School Districts: Monday, May 19 at A.I. du Pont High School (Greenville)

Results - A.I. du Pont event

Brandywine and Colonial School Districts: Tuesday, May 20 at Concord High School (Wilmington)

Appoquinimink and Smyrna School Districts: Thursday, May 22 at St. Andrew's School (Middletown)

Levels of Competition

Rules - Advanced Skills

Rules - Individual (Basic) Skills

Rules - Young Athletes (ages 5-7)

Motor Activity Training Program: Individually-designed activities for athletes of all ages who are not able to successfully participate in the traditional Individual Skills events.

Young Athletes: Athletes ages 7 and under participate in the Individual Skills events, but do so without competing. Instead each athlete receives a participant medal.

Individual Skills: Athletes ages 8 and over participate in the traditional Individual Skills events: 15-meter dribble, run and kick, shoot on goal.

Advanced Skills: Athletes ages 8 and over participate in a more advanced form of the Individual Skills: 12-meter dribbling slalom, control and pass, shooting.
